The Banking Association of San Marino is a non-profit voluntary association with the objective of promoting on a social level, within civil society and the baking system, achievements of entrepreneurship fundamentals, for attaining a free and competitive market.

It was born from the need to produce a study aimed at the reorganization and relaunch of the San Marino financial system.

Out growth over time

2002: the Association was established on December 5, 2002.

2003: ABS is legally recognized

2003: ABS is legally recognized by decree of the Commissioner of the Law on 6 February 2003 and registered in the General Register of Associations at the Court of San Marino at no. 163.

2012: the Association presents the Titano 2018 project
2012: the Association presents, in the context of an event open to the community, the Titano 2018 – White Paper project for the reorganization and relaunch of the San Marino financial system.
2014: the Association starts its active participation in the work of the Scheme Management Board of the European Payments Council.
2014: the Association, through its representative in the Constitution of reference, starts its active participation in the work of the Scheme Management Board of the European Payments Council.
2014: ABS joins the European Banking Federation
EBF Board approved ABS candidacy, approving Membership status, on May 2017, allowing our Association to become part of the network encompassing 32 national bank associations within EU countries and Nations that are part of the European Free Trade area, namely, part of the Council of Europe, who represent 4.500 banks
2015: ABS hosts the 40th meeting of the FBE Associates
2015: ABS hosts the 40th meeting of the FBE Associates. On May 28-30, 2015, the Association hosted the 40th meeting of the Members of the European Banking Federation.

At the event, which according to the FBE protocol alternates moments of work at convivial moments and knowledge of the host country, saw the participation of representatives of 17 European Banking Associations and representatives of the Federation.
